When is work not really work? When we are supporting our nominated Charity of the Year St Michael’s Hospice, and having fun while doing so!
As you may be aware, this year DF Legal LLP are supporting the excellent St Michael’s Hospice based in Herefordshire – whose aim is to help people affected by terminal illness to live life to the fullest. As the nominated Charity of the Year, DF Legal LLP have a direct partnership with St Michael’s on all things Charity and Fundraising related.
So DF Legal LLP staff have recently been putting their best foot forward by getting involved with two events specifically organised by St Michael’s Hospice. On the 18th March, Lyn Gardiner, Catherine Booton, Gemma Prosniewska and importantly Harley the Dog representing our Ledbury Office walked an impressive 16 KM around Fownhope Recreation Ground raising an amazing £371.00 for that event.
The opportunity then arose on Saturday the 16th June to have hands on involvment in the famous ‘Hereford Paint Runner’ event. This 5 KM course around King George V Playing Fields, Hereford starts with most participants dressed in white and after passing through six colour-blasting stations, finish the run covered in multi-colours. The event is now in its fifth year and the run attracted more than 1,500 fundraisers – all crossing the finish line in a kaleidoscope of brightness. We had 4 brave runners from DF Legal – Jo May, Lyn Gardiner, Casey Benson and Esther Watkins. The rest of the DF Legal Team, were more than happy to be throwing paint at the fund raisers from the DF Legal LLP sponsored Blue Paint Station.
DF Legal Marketing Coordinator Grant Adlard said “It was a really amazing event to be involved with. Everyone afterwards was in need of a good shower but more importantly also left with a huge smile. Credit goes to Matt Ashcroft and the whole team at St Michael’s Hospice for putting on such a fun event, which the whole team from across our 4 offices were exciting to get involved with – whether that be running through or throwing the multi-coloured Powder Paint.” Through the Paint Runner event DF Legal LLP donated another impressive £495.00!
Commenting on DF Legal LLP’s contribution Paddy Nugent, Community Fundraising Manager from St. Michael’s Hospice said “We are so happy that DF Legal chose to get involved with these two events. We know the importance of cultivating meaningful and symbiotic relationships with local businesses. We understand that allows them to give back to the community and give a higher profile to their Brand, but also allows us to have many of the expenses of a certain Event taken care of, and thereby ultimately allowing the sponsorship money raised by individuals to go to the cause of looking after those in need.
We are blown away by the generosity shown by DF Legal LLP up to this point, and are so glad that we have been nominated as DF Legal’s Charity of the Year. We also really look forward to carrying on together with support and participation in more events put on by St Michael’s Hospice during the remainder of 2018”
