Profile of the month: Catherine Booton

Catherine Booton

Role: Conveyancing Solicitor

Dept: Conveyancing

Location: Ledbury

Catherine joined the team at DF Legal in October 2017. She graduated with a Law Degree at the University of Sheffield, after which she commenced training as a barrister and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in November 2012.

Following that, she graduated with a distinction in her solicitor’s exams which she completed in Leeds whilst working for an international law firm.

She then moved to the South East and completed most of her training at a regional firm where she took on other responsibilities. Catherine was Vice President of the Cambridge Junior Lawyers, a committee member for the local young professionals group and a committee member for Essex Ladies in Business.

Outside of work, Catherine is an avid gym goer and enjoys taking part in active events and dog walking with her Chihuahua, Arnie. She also supports a number of charitable interests, both local and national.

Catherine has experience with all aspects of the Conveyancing process from initial instruction through to completion and beyond. She deals daily with sales and purchases of both freehold and leasehold properties which can include a vast array of legal matters such as access and boundary issues, planning permission, building regulations approvals, Management Company dealings and more.

As well as straightforward conveyancing transactions, Catherine also has much experience in more advanced and other varied property transactions such as re-mortgages, equity release, first registrations, and matrimonial transfers.

In addition, Catherine has experience in dealing with new build developments, shared ownership properties and handling the legal aspects of Help to Buy schemes and ISA’s. Catherine aims to make the Conveyancing process as understandable as possible, no matter whether the client is experienced or not in Property Transactions. As such she is the lead contact for DF Legal’s First Time Buyers Club (coming soon!).
